Aiming at the problem of simple model in the analysis of effective area of bistatic sonar, this paper puts forward the calculation method of bistatic coverage area under the condition of uneven target intensity, and draws the conclusion of blind area and optimal bistatic configuration. Through the simulation calculation, it is found that the coverage area of the bistatic base changes in a butterfly shape with the change of the submarine course, and the bistatic base has an advantage over a single equivalent base only in a specific area when working. This area is usually referred to as the dominant area, and the baseline distance of the blind area in the dominant area is obtained through the simulation calculation. After the submarine is discovered, it usually escapes within a certain approximate angle. Through the simulation calculation, it is found that the bistatic base has the advantage of distance and area, but the two can not be combined. The choice based on the actual situation can provide theoretical reference for the use of the bistatic base at the present stage, which has certain military significance.
