Application of CMA Algorithm in Long-haul Radio Frequency Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing System

The RF-based optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system which is of lower cost compared with all-optical communication system is widely used in long-haul optical fiber communication. While dispersion can not be ignored under the demand of increasing capability. Then direct detection RF-based optical OFDM simulation system is built. Dispersion on the system is analyzed and equalized by constant modulus algorithm (CMA) in receiver. Simulation results demonstrate that the equalization method can achieve the bit error performance for RF-based optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system in which the binary modulation signals for 100 Gbit/s is transmitted 1 000 km.
